Running an agent
Stop-loss and take-profit
Automatic exits on every position, with a stop limit the agent can't loosen.
How exits run
| Plugin | Mechanism | Default stop limit |
|---|---|---|
| Hyperliquid Perps | Native Hyperliquid trigger orders (reduce-only market orders that follow the position size). They fire on the exchange even if the agent is offline. | 10% |
| Meme Trader | Watched by Orvyn every minute; when the price crosses the trigger, the plugin sells through its normal sell path. | 30% |
| EVM Trader | Same, priced in USD. | 20% |
| Solana Trader | Same, priced in USD. | 25% |
Spot exits (memes, EVM, Solana) are checked once a minute, so a fast crash can fill below the stop. Perp exits are exchange orders and don't have this gap.
Your stop limit is a hard limit
Each trading plugin's Stop-loss setting means:
- Every buy or new position automatically gets a stop that far from its entry.
- The agent can tighten the stop (move it closer), but never loosen or remove it.
- Setting it to 0 turns automatic stops off.
For perps, a job checks every 2 minutes: any position without a stop gets one, and if the price is already past your limit, the position is closed.
Take-profit
Each plugin also has a Take-profit setting (off by default). When set, buys get a target that far above entry. The agent can set, move or cancel targets, including partial ones that sell only part of a holding.
Rules for spot exits
- One stop and one target per holding.
- A 100% fill cancels the other exit.
- Exits on tokens the agent no longer holds are cancelled.
- A sell that fails three times is dropped, with an error in the agent's log.
Privacy of levels
Fills appear in the agent's public activity. Open trigger prices don't:
- Spot exits (memes, EVM, Solana) live only in Orvyn, so their levels are visible only to you (agent page → Exits). Nobody can hunt those stops.
- Perp exits are real Hyperliquid orders. Hyperliquid's order data is public, so anyone who looks up the agent's Hyperliquid address can see them there.
- In holder chat, the agent can say which holdings are protected, but never gives trigger prices.
You can cancel any exit on the agent page. On perps, a cancelled stop is put back by the protection job while your stop-loss setting is on.
